How To Use

Using mica powder in candle making can add a beautiful shimmer and color to your candles. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use mica powder effectively:

Gather your supplies: You will need mica powder in the color(s) of your choice, candle wax (such as paraffin wax), a double boiler or a heat-resistant container and a heat source, candle wicks, candle fragrance (optional), a thermometer, and candle molds or containers.

Prepare your candle wax: Melt your candle wax in a double boiler or a heat-resistant container placed in a pot of water on low heat. If you're using a container wax, follow the manufacturer's instructions for melting.

Add fragrance (optional): If you want scented candles, add your chosen candle fragrance to the melted wax and stir it thoroughly. Follow the recommended fragrance load for your specific wax and fragrance.

Prepare the mica powder: In a separate container, mix the mica powder with a small amount of melted wax. Start with a small amount of mica powder and gradually add more if needed to achieve the desired color intensity.

Mix thoroughly: Stir the mica powder and melted wax mixture until the color is well dispersed and there are no clumps. You can use a spoon or a whisk for this step. Ensure that the mica powder is evenly distributed throughout the wax.

Embed mica powder (optional): If you want to create a unique effect, you can also sprinkle or dust a small amount of dry mica powder into the bottom of your candle molds or containers before pouring the wax. This will create a layered or textured appearance.

Cure and enjoy: Let your candles cure for a few days before lighting them. This allows the fragrance to blend and the mica powder to settle in the wax. Once cured, your mica powder candles are ready to be enjoyed!
